Bigi Pan

Day 1
We depart west from the city. You will visit Groningen and the fishing village of Boskamp, ​​with the traditional smokehouses. Through the coconut district of Coronie, with the swaying palms along the road, the wooden houses and the white churches, we continue towards Nieuw Nickerie, where we will take a walk. Nieuw Nickerie is a Hindu town and vast rice fields.
 
At the beginning of the evening, we will enjoy the sunset. We spend the night on the water in lodges- mosquito net included!
 
Day 2
After breakfast, we will take a small boat trip through the Bigi Pan nature reserve. During this journey through the mangrove, you can spot various birds. Many waders, herons, birds of prey and woodpeckers feel at home here. With some luck, we will also encounter the scarlet ibises that pass through eating crabs and shrimps and are a beautiful dark red. There are also small ones regularly caimans spotted. The guide will try to catch them for you to see them up close. You can relax on the lake or take a healing mud bath.
